*** SORRY TO ANY OF YOU WHO HAVE CHECKED THE BLOG RECENTLY AND FOUND IT BLANK.  I WAS GONE SEVERAL DAYS LAST WEEK AND HAVE SPENT THIS WEEK PLAYING CATCH UP.  THE BLOG FELL BY THE WAYSIDE.  WILL PICK UP THE SLACK, BEGINNING TUESDAY.

CURRENT WORK:

SOCIAL STUDIES:  Student teacher, Ms. Knoke finishes up her work sample, a group-produced newspaper about Medieval Times.  A variety of writing types are modeled and expected in this project.  Next week, we'll finish up with the newspaper project.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Currently reading several examples of high-level character analysis papers, before students write their own character analysis on a character who experiences a dramatic change in the animated film, Cars.  This is a district-mandated writing piece.  Next up will be readings and prep work for the Statewide Writing Sample.

VOCABULARY:  The last two weeks have required students to find words from their reading books.  Spelling Bee packets have been sent home for study for those who wish to seriously compete in the upcoming competition in February (2/24).

READING:  Medieval-themed young adult novels.  No book report.  Periodic check ins.  Intended to provide further material and information for use with the Medieval Times Newspaper.
