- seek direct quotes that fit LANGUAGE, CHOICE, FEELINGS, RULES
- some quotes may reflect one or more themes
* discuss how to determine which themes are more significant
- silent, independent work & then group work/share


II. GIVER - read
- start Chapter 5 (teacher read aloud)
- continue to point out vocabulary, use of language, style, etc.
