APRIL 1 & 7 FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIPS DUE FRIDAY

I.  CREATE A MAP OF IRELAND
- draft by hand
- include labels, water features, major cities, etc.
- 15-20 minutes only
* mention facts about history of potatoes, Irish Stew & tax collectors,
   green AND orange, and why corned beef is so popular in US Irish Stew

II.  INDEPENDENT READING BOOK check in
- create word list for major characters, plot, setting, objects
- write word list down side of paper, single column
- front and back only
- create words that rhyme with words from this list
* pass papers around so that others can help with rhymes


language arts
III.  LIMERICKS
- say aloud/practice
- get  a feel for pattern and rhythm
- practice/memorize a limerick
- write 3 limericks about self
- create one final copy for posting on bulletin board
* due Wednesday, if not finished in class
