**  Please note that next Friday is, essentially,  a spirit/activity day.  6th-8th graders may come to school with costumes as long as they are appropriate and not disruptive or unsafe.  For safety reasons, no masks or hoods or overly heavy make up. No plastic or other weapons or violent objects.  Think FUN.  Make your costume or outfit fun and zany.  Make it good natured.  Frightfully horribly ghastly is probably not the best idea.

A.  review chpt. 1-5 and find "significant quotes"
- think of how the quotes help clarify, reveal the story, themes, characterization, etc.
B. analyze and explain a quote -- teacher led modelling.  Talk through/explain.
C. read Outsiders, Chp.  5-6
