- read sample avadavit (become familiar with story)
- reread sample affadavit (start to look at & consider FORMAT & style)
- rearead sample affadavit third time (start to consider what YOUR affadavit will sound like)

- read silently 2nd example for familiarity
- read aloud 2nd affadavit in groups
* practice speaking AND to practice "hearing" how writing sounds
* focus on the formal aspect of an affadavit

writing/language arts
II. MOCK COURT - WRITE AFFADAVIT
- review/scan story packet
- review/scan for pertinent pages (your character's pages)
- begin to write your character's affadavit
* prosecution and defense will begin to work on witness list, opening/closing statements,
argument/strategy
