1/28 - WED

>>> No School on Friday (teacher In Service Day)

I. In Class Novels
* with so many students out working on the Chinese New Year presentation,
we have focused on finishing our novels.

II. Review VOCAB WK5D3
* We really shouldn't still be reviewing the process every day,
but many students are not following instructions or reading the instructions
-- they are responding to failing marks at the start of class for not doing HW (alas)
and then rapidly doing in minutes what they did not do the night before.

II. In Class Novel SKITS
- focus is on revealing how well students have grasped literary concepts
of the novels they are reading (plot, character development, conflict, resolution, etc.)
* this took up most of the class. Very enthusiastic involvement!

* * * HOMEWORK * * * *

__ Vocab Wk 5D4 (10-15 minutes)
* always verify answers/guesses with a dictionary as the last step.
* can begin sentences after this is done

__ Continue/Finish Historical Journal (library book; 20-30 m)
* based on in class observations or reading speed, nearly all students should be done with or nearly done with this book after 8 days of reading.
* Book report will be a timeline of events completed IN CLASS on Monday.

__ Continue/Finish Current Events "Prince Charles..." (due by Monday, Feb. 2)
