II. SS: ILLUMINATED LETTERS - art
- Finish Illuminated Letters with art and colors that fit
the topic of your 5-paragraph essay
- Use books for further research in choosing shapes & colors
- Discuss Medieval symbolism of colors


III. SS: TEN THINGS I KNOW ABOUT MEDIEVAL TIMES
* 1st core had assembly time and will make up test at a later date.

- Share facts in groups, using Illuminated letters to discuss Middle Ages
- closed test, open answers
- list ten facts (complete details) that you know about the Middle Ages


* tests like these are tough because it forces students to really think about what they *think* they know. It's also easy, because I am asking them to tell me what they know for the test, instead of me telling them what they should know (as I so often do).
