ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER, ANSWER THE FOLLOWING: (1) TITLE OF SOURCE, WITH DATE AND AUTHOR'S NAME; (2) SUMMARY OF THE ARTICLE, including the WHAT, WHO, WHERE, WHY, WHEN, HOW details; (3) YOUR REACTION to the article -- why is this article important or how do you feel about the events in this article; (4) List five - 5- words or titles you liked, found challenging or powerful.
__ CREATE VOCABULARY FLASH CARDS
Include (1) WORD; (2) REMINDING WORD/ASSOCIATION WORD; (3) DEFINITION;
(4) THE SENTENCE IN WHICH YOU FOUND THE WORD -- box the word in the sentence;
(5) A *CLEAR and OBVIOUS* illustration/image that conveys the meaning of the word.
__ READ and write a thoughtful, creative, detailed, honest LITERARY LETTER about your reading time. A journal of what you read and your experiences with the reading, including sometimes where and how you read the material, your efforts to focus, what you thought about, what you were reminded of, etc.
